Our day... in a nutshell
Rolling Drop Off
Children arrive at 8:30am with a belly full of food, ready to play and learn. Parents will sign in their child and hand them off to the Teacher, who will help encourage them to take their shoes off, put their belongings away(when age appropriate), and wash their hands.
Free Play
The children are free to choose any toys or games they wish to play. The educators assist the children in learning how to use materials appropriately and appropriate behaviors to maintain around other friends.
Clean Up
Everyone helps to put away toys and/or materials. This time helps the child transition gradually from one activity to another and creates a sense of responsibility and pride in our shared space.
Circle Time
A time to sit together to start our day, check in with friends, sing songs and read stories, exploring the morals found in books and music. By reading together, we learn to still our bodies and listen quietly. With music we learn to move and become aware of the space our bodies need and use.
Creative Arts
Through creative arts we learn together in exploring different textures and art mediums (crayons, paints, dot art, and sensory material, like playdough, kinetic sand and monkey foam, etc.).
Outdoor Exploration
We believe that with fresh air, children can reset their minds and bodies. Time outdoors instills a sense of adventure and helps develop coordination through climbing, running, outdoor games, and walks around the neighborhood. The children learn outdoor safety from the educator’s example and guidance. We urge parents/guardians to send their child(ren) to childcare dressed for outdoor play.
Lunch Time
Meal time is a great social time with lots of language development. We discuss our meals and ask our friends what they brought for the day to eat. This opens up conversation and community building.
Story Time 2
Reading or looking at books occurs at various times throughout the day. We always have two story times throughout our mornings together: Once during circle time and once before pick up.
Rolling Pick Up
Children will be picked up anytime between 12:15 and 12:30pm. In consideration for other families coming in and out, all children will be ready with their belongings in hand and shoes on, to head home for the rest of their day! Each day it is required you sign your child out for the day.
